Our specialist courses allow you to build experience with the world’s best. Expand on PPL and CPL licenses from either the FAA or EASA.
Vantage Aviation’s range of specialist flight courses, conducted in both the UK and USA, are provided by our qualified team of experienced flight instructors. All of these instructors have a military background – predominantly from the highly demanding world of Commando Aviation. They have significant experience in all disciplines having been both Instructors and examiners in each role. Our Instructors hold EASA and FAA licences in both Helicopters and Fixed Wing.

Winching TechniqueTo enable the applicant to perform winching duties from a helicopter day and night to targets using various arrival and departure techniques.

Roping TechniqueTo enable the applicant to perform roping duties as a helicopter pilot by day and night to targets using various arrival and departure techniques.

NVD TechniqueTo enable the applicant to conduct all flight profiles and responsibilities using NVD equipment. This includes flying and non-flying pilot roles where applicable and to navigate accurately using NVD equipment.

Deck Landing Techniques (Day and Night)To enable the applicant to safely perform operations aboard ships,vessels and yachts.

Instructor Upgrade and CourseTo add privileges to the applicant’s certificate to enable the ability to instruct additional courses. To improve and enhance the instructional techniques of previously qualified instructors.

Technical BrushupFor pilots, owners and instructors who are looking to improve their knowledge by type.

Mutual Support TechniqueTo enable the applicant to conduct helicopter mutual support operations day and night. Where qualified to include NVD operations.

Formation TechniqueTo enable the applicant to lead and maintain close and loose formation positions during take-off, transit, manoeuvre and landing in same type and mixed helicopter type formations. Training carried out to 2 rotor spans. Where qualified, to including night and NVD formation.

Load Lifting TechniqueTo enable the applicant to conduct helicopter load lifting procedures by day and night. Where qualified, to including night and NVD formation.

FAA to EASA ConversionTo enable the applicant to be prepared to pass the required theoretical exams and skills test to obtain the desired licence.

Captaincy CourseTo enable the applicant to improve their captaincy skills – increase spare capacity, situational awareness and improve emergency handling.

Maintenance Test PilotTo gain the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of a maintenance test pilot.

Search and RescueThe applicant will gain the knowledge and skills required to confidently perform the duties of a SAR pilot. We have courses to suit Co-Pilot or Captain roles. We can also train courses from ab-intio.

LiDARThe applicant will gain the skills and knowledge to effectively perform the duties of a pilot flying sensing sorties from either a Fixed Wing or Rotary wing.

Professional Ground School and Theory Brush UpVantage Aviation is approved to deliver professional theory courses including PPL, CPL and IR.

Rotary Wing to Fixed Wing TransitionThe applicant will be be able to attain the Fixed Wing qualifications desired, coming from a helicopter background.
